Overview

The focus in this discipline is on understanding electronic networks and devices, electromagnetic fields, computer fundamentals, communication and control systems. Electronics and Communication Engineering uses the scientific knowledge of the behavior and effects of electronics to develop components, devices, systems and equipments. It deals with recent trends in communication technology via wire/wireless networks, circuits designs & Microcontrollers.

The Electronics and Communication Engineering Programme was started in 2000 and the programme is Approved by the AICTE, New Delhi and Affiliated to DOTE, Chennai. Five Faculty members have been working in this Department.

Program Educational Objectives

  • Diploma graduates will have advancements in their careers or a Bachelor’s degree in the field of Electronics and Communication or allied fields of Engineering.
  • Diploma graduates will exhibit positive attitude, effective communication and presentation skills through teamwork.
  • Diploma graduates will ensure lifelong learning and explore entrepreneurial traits.

Program Specific Outcomes

  • To Apply the knowledge of mathematics, Physics, chemistry, electronics and communication engineering to solve complex engineering problem in electrical circuit and instrumentation, VLSI, Microcontroller, linear integrated circuit, analog and digital communication and relevant areas.
  • An ability to isolate and solve complex problems in the domain of Electronics and Communication using latest hardware and software tools.
  • Develop their skills to solve problems and assess social, environmental issues with ethics and manage different projects in multidisciplinary areas.

The Department of Electronics and communication Engineering blossomed in the year 2000. The department blooms today with good academic results. The department has always strived to maintain its high standards. Apart from the theoretical course work, the department believes that the students should have sound knowledge in practical work. In view of the above, the department offers practical courses in embedded systems, VLSI design, Industrial electronics, PLC. These labs promise to pose new and challenging careers to the students in various reputed companies.

The students of the department always hold the name of the institution in good repute. The students and staffs aim to participate in various projects that benefit society. The Department has a devoted team of faculty members who are well qualified, trained and experienced in the areas of VLSI, PLC, Embedded systems, Microcontroller and Wireless communications, and also in the related fields of DSP, Image processing, Global Positioning System and Defense communication and Security systems.

Students are motivated to participate in curricular and co-curricular activities within and outside the institution. The students are motivated to undergo in-plant training in various companies. Most of the students are placed in various renowned companies and some of them pursue higher studies, and a few of them are self-employed.
